The Second International Theatre & Dance Festival Pakistan is to be held in Lahore in November 1997. It will be the first event in Pakistan to bring together international choreographers, dancers and theatric artists.It will be a major cultural event to mark the fifty years of Pakistan’s independence.

We are hoping that the fusion of great cultures that will take place in the ancient city of Lahore will be memorable experience for both the participating companies and the audience alike.

Many momentous events have happened in the last years of this century as the peoples’ quest for freedom has removed the great barriers that stood between them and progress, setting into motion a unique process of change which is now unstoppable.

We would like this festival to be a celebration of peoples’ basic right to be freedom and independence and to be able to express themselves without fear, so that their creativity may bring forth peace and harmony between the peoples of the world.

Participation...

We would like the festival to remain broad-based and free so that the productions are not tied down to one theme only. We would be very interested in plays with subject matter which is against oppression be it political, economic, racial, religious or against any group.

We cannot provide travel expenses nor can we pay the participating groups. However, we will take care of hotel stay, food, local, transportation and sightseeing tours to some historic sites in the city of Lahore.

We can also provide a variety of lighting & sound equipment.
